The Tropical Combat Uniform was the standard uniform of U.S. soldiers during the Vietnam War. Developed in the early 1960s, it was designed to withstand the extreme climatic conditions of the jungle. The uniform was made of lightweight cotton poplin, which dried quickly, was lightweight, and yet very durable. The jacket featured various spacious pockets to store equipment such as maps and other essentials.
